Trump, China’s Xi speak on phone ahead of inauguration

President-elect Trump confirmed on Friday that he had spoken with Chinese President Xi Jinping days before Trump was to be inaugurated.

“I just spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The call was very good for both China and the US,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

“I expect that we will solve many problems together, and immediately. We talked about balancing trade, fentanyl, TikTok and many other topics. President Xi and I will do everything possible to make the world more peaceful and safer!”
