Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning shot down rumors Monday that he planned to enter the transfer window at the end of the season as the team prepared for its next College Football Playoff game against Arizona State.
Rumors swirled around Manning throughout the season as he sat as a backup Quinn Ewers. When Ewers got hurt, Manning stepped up and the offense kept up. He has 939 passing yards and nine touchdowns.

“I mean, I really don’t have any plans to enter the portal or anything,” said the redshirt freshman, via Suparnik. “So I really don’t know about that, all the windows and everything.”
He admitted that being a backup quarterback was an adjustment after being the star quarterback in high school whose family is home to one of the most famous football players of all time.
“It’s definitely an adjustment,” Manning said. “No one ever wants to not play. But like I said, I do whatever I can to help the team win, whether I play or don’t play, that’s what I’m going to do.”

He credited Ewers with helping him learn how to be a college football player.
Ewers echoed that sentiment.
“We have a good relationship, so it’s easy to be that way,” Ewers said.
Manning is definitely in line to become one starting quarterback 2025, except Ewers decides to stay in school for one more year before turning pro.
