The taxi crashed into a group of pedestrians in the crowd New York Cityleaving at least six injured at the iconic tourist spot on Christmas Day.

The New York Police (NYPD) confirmed to Fox News Digital that a hit by a taxi group of pedestrians in Herald Square at 6th Avenue and West 34th Street shortly after 4 PM ET.

The taxi driver has been identified as a 58-year-old man, police said. They did not share what led to the crash.

Six patients were taken in different conditions local hospitals for treatment, the police said.

Authorities said a 9-year-old boy was taken to a hospital with lacerations to his leg; A 41-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with a head injury; and the 49-year-old woman was transported to the hospital with a leg injury.

The other people refused further medical attention after the crash, police said.

Herald Square is a popular tourist destination, especially during the holiday season, where Broadway, Sixth Avenue and 34th Street meet.

After the accident, no one was arrested, and the cause of the incident is still under investigation, police said.
