SpaceX’s ninth Starship test ends in failure after spacecraft begins spinning

Spacex -ov ninth test flight Starship space spacecraft, launched on May 27 from Starbase Company in Texas, ended up in the failure shortly after the liftff.

The mission was aimed at implementing eight Starlink Simulator Satellite and testing a system of re -entry of the vehicle with 100 removed thermal shield tiles.

Despite the successful launch and initial climb, the spacecraft began to spin uncontrollably because of the failure of the fuel system, which made the heat shield test unsupported.

Universe Executive Director Elon Musk Posted on X after the flight test, writing: “The Starship reached the scheduled shipping engine, such a major improvement during the last flight! Also, there is no significant loss of the thermal shield tile during the rise.”

Briefly Once the space reachesThe stage of reinforcement, critical for the re -entry of the spaceship, was lost during the return to the atmosphere. In addition, the door of useful cargo did not open during the flight.

The remaining parts of the ship that do not fall apart from the heat of re -entry are expected to land in the Indian Ocean, according to the company.

This indicates another failure for the Spacex Starship Program, which faced challenges in previous tests. Spacex had previously had problems with the Startship system, including a flawed flight earlier this year in April.

In a statement after an incident that was divided through X, Spacex acknowledged the failure and emphasized the importance of learning from each test. “With a test like this, success comes from what we learn, and today’s test will help us improve the reliability of the Starship because Spacex tries to make Life multiplatary,” the company said.

The Federal Air Force Directorate (FAA) was informed of the incident and is expected to investigate to determine the cause of failure and evaluate any potential impact on future launch.

“FAA is aware that the anomalies happened during the Spacex Starship Flight 9 mission, which was launched on Tuesday, May 27, from Starbase in Texas, and actively cooperates with Spacex at the event. There are no public injuries reports at the moment,” FAA wrote in the statement.

Spacex has not yet announced a time strip for its next test flight, but indicated that the company would continue to perfect the Starship system based on data collected from this mission.

“Development testing by definition is unpredictable,” Spacex states on their website. “But by putting hardware in the flight environment as often as possible, we are able to quickly learn and make design changes as we strive to bring the Starship online as a vehicle completely and quickly for multiple use.”
