Ski Accident On New Hampshire Mountain claims life of 12-year-old boy


A tragic New Year’s Eve accident claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy while skiing at Mount Cranmore in New Hampshire.

According to officials, the boy was skiing on the intermediate ski trail when the accident happened.

North Conway Fire and Rescue arrived on scene and the boy had already been transported to the mountain base where he was unconscious.

The Cranmore Ski Patrol team performed CPR but was unsuccessful, so he was transported by ambulance to MaineHealth Memorial Hospital where he failed to recover. He was pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.

Cranmore Mountain Resort and Conway Police Chief Christopher Mattei released statements expressing their condolences.

“On behalf of Cranmore Mountain Resort, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family,” a Cranmore Mountain spokesperson said in a statement. “The entire Cranmore family mourns this tragic loss.”

“On behalf of Conway Police Department, and to all first responders who responded, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family members of the 12-year-old boy,” Mattei wrote.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
