Serbian Prime Minister Milo Vuevius has resigned after several weeks of mass protests at a railway station in the north of the country that has been found guilty of government corruption.

Protests were triggered as a result of the collapse of the Novi Saad Rail Station roof, SerbiaThe second largest city on November 7, killed 5. The public response to the disaster has become the biggest challenge to the GIS on the power of the powerful President Alexander Bhuisi, who has been in the office since 2017.

The roof collapsed after a renovation at the station by a consortium led by two Chinese companies built between Budapest and Belgrade. Bhuvi, a close ally of the President, was the mayor of the Navy Sad when construction work began.

The Flagship Railway project has identified Viewi and Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Arban as a symbol of their openness to more Chinese investment in their country.

Students have led nationwide protests demanding government accountability for the station disaster. They have occupied dozens of universities over the past two months as part of their activities. On Friday, thousands of people participated in a general strike in support of the student movement.

“Any kind of crisis creates a serious problem for our economy. This national situation is not good for anyone in the society, “the President has added.

Bhuiye also said he was ready to replace half of the government.

On Tuesday, Vuevius said that he and his successor Navi Sad Mayor Milan would resign as đuria and would further add that they were responding to protesters’ demands for the government accountability for the accident.

Vuevius said, “Novi Sad’s mayor and I consider myself to be intentionally responsible for what happened to Navi Sad and we voluntarily pay the political price,” said Vuevius.
