Prince Harry’s lawyers are in eleventh-hour talks with Rupert Murdoch’s UK tabloid newspaper business to settle illegal data collection claims against the publisher, London’s High Court has heard.
D Duke of Sussex Previously insisted that other claimants, including Hugh Grant, Sienna Miller and a number of other figures, were determined to proceed with the case even after Murdoch’s News Group newspaper accepted an offer to dismiss their claims.
But on the opening day of the trial, Anthony Hudson Casey, acting for the publisher, told the High Court that both sides were engaged in “settlement negotiations”.
King Charles III’s younger son is the only remaining claimant in the High Court case alongside former Labor deputy leader Lord Tom Watson, whose lawyers are also in settlement talks, the court heard.
