President Biden signs stopgap funding bill into law, averting shutdown

The White House announced that President Biden signed the temporary funding bill on Saturday, extending government funding into March and avoiding a shutdown.

The bill includes $100 billion in disaster relief and a one-year farm bill.

The Senate worked until early Saturday morning to pass the bill 85-11, just after a deadline expired after a chaotic week on Capitol Hill.

President Biden has yet to publicly comment on the bill’s passage.

“H.R. 10545, the “American Relief Act, 2025,” making appropriations for fiscal year 2025 to Federal agencies through March 14, 2025, to continue projects and activities of the Federal Government; making appropriations for disaster relief and economic assistance to farmers ; extends the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 to extend several powers that expire,” the White House statement read.

This is the latest news and will be updated.
