Pope Leo XIV On Monday morning, he wrapped his first meeting with journalists who were accredited at the Vatican.
More than 1,000 media members were gathered to hear his remarks, according to New York Times. Some of them even took their children.
The gathering took place in the Paul VI Vatican Hall, Reported the Vatican media. There, the Pope “thanked the press for Italian for their relentless work during these intense a few weeks.”
“Let’s separate the communication of all prejudices and resentment, fanatism and even hatred,” Pope said to a multitude of journalists. “Let’s disarm the words, and we will help disarm the world.”

The Pope spoke mainly in Italian, but opened up with a joke in English about the standing ovation he received.
“Thanks for this wonderful reception,” he said. “They say that when they spit at the beginning, it doesn’t matter. If you are still awake and still want to clap, thank you very much.”
