A multi-vehicle crash involving two police vehicles injured several people Saturday in Oakland, California, according to law enforcement officials.
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) told Fox News Digital that the crash happened in the 700 block of Mandela Parkway, near the West Oakland train station. Photos from the scene show wrecked police vehicles with broken windows and open doors, along with debris in the street.
The authorities were informed about the situation around 14:45 local time. According to Oakland police, two Bay Area Police Department Rapid Transit (BART) police cars were involved in the crash.
“Several occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries during the crash,” an OPD spokesman said. “Paramedic personnel responded to the scene to assist and transport individuals to local hospitals for treatment.”
