North Korea vows ‘toughest’ US policy in vague announcement

The North Korean regime vowed to take its “toughest” policy against the US at a meeting of the country’s ruling party last week.

The December 23-27 meeting was attended by top members of the Workers’ Party of Korea, including dictator Kim Jong Un. State media KCNA said the leaders condemned the ongoing partnership between the US, Japan and South Korea as a “nuclear military bloc”.

“This reality clearly shows in which direction to go and what and how to do,” the party’s announcement reads.

The meeting comes as Faces of North Korea rising tensions with Western governments after sending troops to help Russia’s invasion of Ukraine this fall.

The Kim regime also denounced South Korea as an “anti-communist outpost” after this week’s meetings, citing President Yoon Suk-Yeol an attempt to impose a state of emergency earlier this month.

North Korea remained silent for about a week after that Yoon’s attempt, which thwarted national legislation. The Kim Jong Un regime finally commented on the issue through its state news agency on December 11.

“The shocking incident Yoon Suk Yeol’s puppet regime, which was facing a serious management crisis and an impeachment crisis, suddenly declared a state of emergency decree and unhesitatingly brandished the guns and knives of its fascist dictatorship,” KCNA said in a report.

“The international community is closely watching, with assessments that the martial law incident has exposed vulnerabilities in South Korean society… and that Yoon Suk Yeol’s political career may face an early end,” KCNA added.
