2020 Cuban Olympian Andy Cruz is hoping that Quichon will succeed in his title challenge against WBO lightweight champion Denis Berinchik on February 14. Cruz says he wants to take the WBO belt from Kyshawn (12-0, 8 KOs) if he wins it. Berinchik vs. Keyshawn will be shown on ESPN and ESPN+. The event starts at 9:00 PM ET/6:00 PM PT.
Andy calls Davis “my son” because of his many victories over him. However, he still wants to beat Berinchik (19-0, 9 KOs) next month. He says he will watch the fight.
It would be Cruz’s fifth win over Kishon. His record is perfect 4-0, and has repeatedly called out Davis who has been promoted to Top Rank since turning pro, but with no luck. Keyshawn doesn’t want to lose again, so he makes excuses.
Even if Davis beats Berinchik, he won’t be defending his WBO title against Cruz. That’s the last person he would think of fighting because he knows what will happen if they fight.
It would be like Keyshavn giving away the VBO belt. He has already said what he hopes to do if he gets his hands on the belt. Davis says he wants to use that to try to lure WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis to a unification fight. It’s a dream that has no chance of coming true as Tank focuses on fighting popular fighters.
Keyshawn’s excuses for not fighting Andy Cruz
I don’t know how Keyshawn could rightly say that Cruz isn’t “ready” to fight him, when he beat him four times in the amateurs and looked better than him in the pros. Davis looked bad in his fights against Nahir Albright and Miguel Maduen. Those are the only two half-decent fighters Cashon has fought since turning pro. The rest were scrubs.
“I believe my son has improved a lot.” “I hope he wins the belt to see if I can take it from him for the fifth time,” Andy Cruz said. ISM Sports Mediain response to Keyshawn David challenging WBO lightweight champion Dennis Berinchik on February 14th.
“Of course, I will watch that fight. What kind of father doesn’t want to watch his son?” Cruz said when asked if he would watch Keyshawn vs. Berinchik.
