Jaime Munguia will reportedly fight his former conqueror, Bruno Surace, in a rematch on April 12 in Tijuana, Mexico.
Former WBO junior middleweight champion Munguia (44-2, 35 KOs) hopes to avenge his humiliating sixth-round knockout loss to Surace (26-0-2, 5 KOs) from last month on December 14 in front of his hometown fans city in Tijuana.
Munguia, 28, was careless in the sixth round and dropped a right hand from the Cobra-like Surance. The kick sent Munguia face down to the canvas.
Jaime was on his feet after getting to his feet and referee Juan Jose Ramirez stopped him rather than let the Frenchman upset him a second time.
Labonita_delbokeo reports news about the rematch Munguia vs. Surace on his Instagram channel.
It’s questionable whether it’s a good idea for Munguia to rematch Surace because this guy might have his number. Earlier in the fight, Jaime knocked him down with a left hook to the head.
However, moments later, Surace stunned Mungia with a cobra-like right hand to the head. Munguia took it well, but that shot was identical to the right hand that dropped him later in the fight in the sixth.
