Legend of Olympic Gymnastics Mary Lou Retton He was arrested on a charges for DUI in Western Virginia earlier this month, court records showed.

Retton was charged with one driving point under the influence of alcohol, controlled substances or drugs on May 17, according to the record of the Marion County Court. She was released from prison after publishing a personal recognition bond of $ 1,500.

Fox News Digital addressed Retton’s repetitions on comment.

Retton, 57, was diagnosed with a “rare form of pneumonia” in 2023, and the family raised alarm to “fight for their life.” She was housed in an intensive care unit for some time while doctors helped her fight the disease.

“This is serious, and this is life, and I’m so grateful to be here,” she said at the NBDay 2024. “I am blessed to be here because it was time when they were about to put me on my life support.”

Retton was nicknamed “America’s SweetHeart” during his 1984 gold medal at the 1984 Summer Games Los Angeles. She was only 16 years old when she achieved the perfect 10’s in Kat exercises and vaults in the last two rotations to become the first American to win the Olympic title.

That year she earned five medals – one gold, two silver and two bronze.

After withdrawing from gymnastics, Retton became a motivational speaker and often shared messages about the benefits of proper nutrition and exercise.
