A suspect is on trial after an attack at a Christmas market in Germany on Friday killed five people and injured more than 200 others.
The suspect, a doctor from Saudi Arabia, was identified as Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, who arrived in Germany in 2006 and was recognized as a refugee in 2016.
It comes as German authorities are facing more trouble after the gunman used an emergency exit to enter the market.
During a visit on Saturday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, ministers and political leaders in the region were met with disgust from the public, some apparently angered by criticism that security was failing.
