Manhunt after mass shooting leaves ten dead including children

He killed at least 10 people, including two children, in southern Montenegro and is still missing, police said.

Some of these people died in a restaurant in the Cetinje area, before the suspect moved to another place.

A verbal altercation between the guests preceded the shooting, a police officer was quoted as saying by an RTCG reporter.

Prime Minister Milojko Spajic described the shooting as a “grave tragedy” and his government declared three days of national mourning starting Thursday.

The gunman killed his family members, the restaurant owner’s two children and the owner, according to Interior Minister Danilo Saranovic.

Mr Saranovic called the incident “a consequence of a breakdown in relations”, according to the AFP news agency.

Four people are in critical condition in hospital after being seriously injured in the shooting, the agency says.

The suspect had previously been arrested for possession of weapons, Reuters reported.

In the small Balkan country, mass shootings are rare.
