London’s Heathrow Airport has been forced to close until midnight after the fire in the nearest electricity substation.

The London Fire Brigade said in a statement late Thursday that a huge fire broke into an electric substation near Heathrow, after the transformer was directly caught.
The statement did not mention the airport, but it said the fire was “a large number of houses and local business caused the power outage”.
Assistant Commissioner Pat Golburn said, “This is a very visible and significant event, and our firefighters are working tirelessly in the challenging situation to control the fire as soon as possible.”
“It would be a prolonged event, the disruption is expected to increase when we were going in the morning as the crew remained in the scene, and we request people to avoid the area wherever possible.”
Golburn said firefighters had set up a 200 meter cordon and removed 150 people.
Heathrow said the airport will be closed up to “March 2123h59”.
“Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport and they should contact the airlines for more information,” added the airport.
