It has apparently occurred to President Joe Biden or, more likely, a member of his team that Americans are not exactly impressed with his performance over the past four years. So the White House made a last-ditch effort to convince the country that his presidency had actually been a success. Like a frustrated high school teacher trying to drill knowledge into the thick skulls of his students, Biden continues to hammer voters with absurdly flattering and utterly false interpretations of his own accomplishments.
The state doesn’t buy it; the more lipstick Biden puts on his presidential pig, the lower his approval rating drops.
Perhaps the final chapter in Biden’s revisionist tour, his farewell speech in the Oval Office on Wednesday night ended his presidency as he began it, spewing nonsensical platitudes about our nation’s character and portraying himself as the Great Defender of Democracy.

The president led the news of a welcome ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. Apparently angry that the Americans and Israeli news services are taking credit President-elect Donald Trump and his Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff with a breakthrough, Biden cruised to victory, citing 8 months of non-stop negotiations by his team. Since those efforts bore no fruit, most think Hamas responded instead to Trump’s credible threat that there would be “hell to pay” if the hostages were not released by Inauguration Day.
Biden touted some of his administration’s accomplishments, including dubious claims of “creating” 17 million jobs (much of which was simply bringing back jobs lost to the COVID shutdowns) and reducing violent crime to a 50-year low (which has been debunked.)
Much of his speech, however, focused on the threats facing America, including an unidentified “oligarchy” of “extreme wealth, power and influence that literally threatens our entire democracy.”
He also criticized the need to get “dark money” out of politics and revisited his stance on requiring the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes. This nonsense is rich because it comes from the leader of a political party that just squandered more than a billion dollars on a losing candidate and a president who recently awarded George Soros, the personification of extraordinary wealth, power and influence, with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Biden warned of an “avalanche of misinformation” and the emergence of a “tech industrial complex,” clearly concerned that he and his fellow Democrats no longer control the flow of information in the United States and that the tech industry, led by tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, has rallied around Donald Trump. He also warned that climate change remains an “existential threat,” blaming recent hurricanes in North Carolina and wildfires in California on global warming.
Speech in the Oval Office followed by a foreign policy address earlier this week, in which Biden asserted that his administration was leaving the Trump White House “with a very firm hand. And we leave America with more friends and stronger alliances, whose adversaries are weaker and under pressure.” Despite the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, the stalling of the extraordinary Abraham Accords, Beijing’s troubling alliances with Russia and North Korea, and the fall of leftist-friendly governments across Europe, Biden claims that “America … is leading, uniting countries, setting the agenda, rallying others behind our plans and vision.”
Americans disagree, rating Biden’s impact on “the standing of the United States in the world” worse than any recent president except George W. Bush, according to Gallup.

Americans remember that when Biden took office, the world was at peace, and our enemies—especially Iran—were subdued. Now Ukraine is at war with Russia, there is war in Sudan and thanks to the failure of the Biden White House to enforce sanctions on Iran, Israel is facing a multi-front war in The Middle East. As for our participation in globalist institutions, millions of Americans doubt the value of agreements like the Paris Climate Agreement, for example, which require significant economic sacrifices from Americans and almost none from China, the country that is by far the world’s largest polluter.
Biden also wrote a letter to the American people just two days ago, which served as a preview of his farewell address, arguing his case and drawing on the many half-truths and distortions that have become embedded in his revisionism. The president often describes the country as a country on the brink of collapse when he took office. It’s not true.
He writes that the US was in the grip of “the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression”; it’s not even close. The economy grew over 6%, jobs were coming back, and inflation was 1.4%. Moreover, consumer confidence, despite Covid pandemicit was 79%, a figure that was rarely reached in the last four years. Those are the facts.
There is no point in arguing against the president’s economic mythology; people know they are no better off than they were when Biden took office.
Despite all of Biden’s fantasies, the nation is steadfast. Biden’s approval rating has reached record lows, despite a recent series of public appearances by the former imprisoned president. According to a FiveThirtyEight analysis, only 35.6 percent currently approve of Biden’s performance, which is below the 38.6 percent received by President-elect Trump after protests on January 6 at the Capitol.

Even worse, a recent CNN poll found that 61% of the country considers Biden’s presidency a failure, s 38% watch it as a success.
The good news is that Americans are paying attention and I don’t trust Joe Biden anymore. They believe that Biden was a terrible president, even though Democrats and their allies in the liberal media tell them otherwise. That’s why they elected Donald Trump, and that’s why they’ll be cheering for the end of the Biden era on January 20.
