Boston police officer John O’Keeefe’s death 2022 could have been the result of a violent love triangle involving an Atf agent to his girlfriend, doubted the killer Karen readwhich began to send messages just a few weeks before she was last seen alive, her defense appointed Massachusetts on Monday.
Read, now 45, the accused of killing his 46-year-old boyfriend, a police officer in Boston, January 29, 2022. Police state that she was hit by the rear end of his Lexus SUV and drove him away, disappointing him and leaving him to die during Blizzard.
Read declared that he was not guilty and denied the striking O’Keefe at all through his lawyers.

“If you are looking for my opinion, it is my opinion that you should not face Mr. O’Keefe,” Bukhenik said. “Mr. O’Keefe was not the one who persecuted Mr. Higgins. It was your client who chased Mr. Higgins.”
On Friday Jackson Bukhenik read a long series of texts between Read Higgins as well exchanged in weeks before O’Keefe, where they flirted, called each other, talked about a kiss in front of the O’Keefe house and often raised a heavy drink.
Reading the conversation started, and Higgins’ answer was to wonder how she got his number and why she reached him. Read stop reacting a few days before O’Keefe’s death. Higgins, Read and O’Keefe were present at the waterfall bar and grid 28 January 2022, and Jackson asked Bukenik if the surveillance video showed that Higgins was aggressive toward O’Keefe.

The same night Higgins sent two unanswered text to reading.
“After a week of communication with Miss Read in a romantic way, then … seeing her entering the door with John O’Keefe and sending a text message:” Umm. And. “After being drunk, do you see that, a detective as an investigator as a reasonable, objective investigator, as a possible scenario for Brian Higgous?
“There is a possibility there, but I didn’t see it,” Bukhenik said.
“Did you investigate that opportunity?” Said Jackson.

Bukhenik testified that he did not, but said he was relieving “the totality of the investigation”, which led to allegations against reading.
Bukhenik returned to the booth for his third day of testimony and spent hours answering questions. His testimony was concluded at the end of the day, and Judge Beverly Cannone told him that he would not have to return on Tuesday.
Under the re -examination of a special prosecutor Hank Brennan, Bukhenik testified that the green markings on the back of O’Keefe looked like the grass spots he assumed were held when O’Keefe fell to the ground after being hit.
After a cross -examination, defender Alan Jackson asked if he could get stains from the grass from someone who pulls himself.

“My common sense dictates that it was not a withdrawal mark because it would have linear characteristics, and these would be both buttocks involved in contact with the soil while dragging it,” Bukhenik said.
Earlier during the day, Bukhenik read the text messages of a former state soldier Michael Proctorwho has since been discharged for his extraordinary behavior during the initial investigation.
During Jackson’s test, Bukhenik confirmed that Proctor called “retarded,” he said he hated another defender David Yannetti and wrote about searching for a naked selfy phone.

Jackson also reproduced a video that seems to show Brian Higgins on Canton Police Directorate The headquarters about an hour after prosecutors say O’Keefe died.
Higgins was seen on a supervisory video among a group of people in the waterfall and grilles, along with Read and O’Keefe on January 28th. He also went to a party at 34 Fairview Road, a home owned by another Boston police officer, Brian Albert.
O’Keefe was discovered dead the next morning.
More witnesses testified that they heard him read repeatedly by saying, “I hit him,” he read the morning, and two former friends found O’Keefe dead under a pile of snow on Albert’s lawn.

After sending the jurors to lunch on Monday, Cannone held a quick hearing about Voir and eventually said he would not allow Jackson to question the Buriners about what he knew about the relationship between Proctor -A’s relatives Albert, including one of his brothers, Chris, who was also on the waterfall on January 28.
Reading could face life in prison if he is convicted of the main accusation, a second -degree murder. She was also charged with killing and leaving the place of a deadly accident.
Police have not accused Higgins of the crime, and prosecutors say Read is the only suspect in O’Keefe’s death.
