Alessi also tilted her on the discovery of hypothermia, asking if the inner injuries of O’Keeefe’s stomach and pancreas could be caused by factors that were not freezing temperature.
She testified that it was possible that his pancreas could bleed from a device used to help paramedics with the efforts of CPR, but that would not damage his stomach. However, she later testified that a stomach ulcer could cause o’keefe alcohol without taking his antacid drug.
The toxicology report did not find prescription drugs or medicines in his system at the time of his death. He had a blood alcohol level. And he prescribed an antacid to prevent stomach ulcers.
