George Kambossos Jr. blasted his stance on social media, responding to criticism of his return home to Sydney, Australia on March 22.
Former three-belt lightweight champion Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs) announced to his 83,000 followers on X that he will be heading to his hometown of Sydney for a “huge card” on May 22.
Popular X poster Ray Jackson took a verbal shot at the little ‘Czar’, letting him know it would be “nice” to win in front of his fans because “the last time they saw you, io a** was beaten 24 rounds in a row.”
Ray talks back-to-back lopsided, humiliating 12-round unanimous decision losses to Kambossos Jr. Devin Haney 2022 in Melbourne, Australia. In response to Ray’s harsh criticism, Kambosos talked about his family and his job as a forklift operator.
Jackson is right that it would be nice for Kambossos to win for a change in front of his fans in Australia as Heaney dominated him in back-to-back fights the last time he was at home. If Kambosos keeps losing, he won’t have any Australians wanting to see him fight. Kambosos Jr’s record is 1-3 in his last 4 fights since 2022. He should be 0-4 if you consider the Maxi Hughes fight a forfeit.
The last time Kambossos Jr. won a fight was in Australia nine years ago, when he won Brandon Ogilvie by unanimous decision over 12 rounds on December 2, 2016 in Sydney.
Former IBF, WBA, WBO and Ring Magazine lightweight champion Kambosos Jr.’s career has hit rock bottom over the past three years, losing twice to Hani, being knocked out by Vassily Lomachenko and winning a dubious 12-round decision against Maxi Hughes. .
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn recently signed Kambosos to a multi-fight deal in late 2024, and will make his debut at 140 on March 22 in Sydney. Hearn hasn’t said what he plans to do with Kambosos, but it’s likely he’s leading him toward a title shot against Teofimo Lopez in a rematch.
In Kambos’ first fight against Hani at Marvel Stadium, they fought in front of a huge crowd 41,129. For the rematch Hanei-Kambosos Jr. On 16 October 2022 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, the crowd was much smaller, with only 13,128. This suggests that Kambossos’ appeal in Australia has waned after his first loss to Hani.
It’s not as bad as your mother getting beat up last night doing her job in the corner and it’s not as bad as getting your ass spanked when they throw the keys in jail you fat ugly paedo. The Forklift Association should fire your fat ass because they had to custom build forklifts with… pic.twitter.com/1O4zkDM3O1
