I have been able to see every major shift in job technology with the same reaction: horror.
I see it when we move to the cloud work. When we started using AI to discover and knowledge of knowledge. If we replace spreadsheets with shared docs. And now, with Increase in AI agentsI saw it again.
The question is always coming: Will this technology get my job?
Here is my answer for today’s version of this no question: AI agents will not replace you. But someone will use it.
That’s not a threat – it’s a wake up call. Because this generation of AI is not part of automation. It’s about enhancing and effect.
To explain what I mean, let me borrow an analogy from sports. Workers are more adaptable than we give this honor. History shows that if people are given new equipment, they find new ways of working. The same happens here. We invent jobs we have never thought. We can solve the problems we have previously considered unresolved. We will build teams where all, man or agent, play their strength.
If I have 10 seconds in front of each employee in a Fortune 500 company, here I say: You don’t lose your work with AI agents. You lose it to someone who knows how to collaborate with them very well. So take it away. Learn it. Use it to make your work better – and more people. There are no boundaries of human intellect. Agents help reduce the distance from the idea of effect.
Because in this new work season, the strongest step you can do is play like a team. And your team can only benefit from having glue guys.
