An Israeli official said Sunday that the return to normal civilian life in northern Israel is long border with Lebanon is the way “to truly defeat Hezbollah”.
“To truly defeat Hezbollah—because militarily we have already won, and our victory is very clear—to really win, to achieve a long-term victory, means having many residents living here (northern Israel), huge tourism, reopening restaurants and cafes that were previously were here, that people are coming to ride bikes, agriculture is booming—everything is progressing,” Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff, Lt. Herzi Halevi, said during a visit to southern Lebanon.
“This is a long-term victory. And the state must step in and strongly strengthen this responsibility,” he added.
Fox News confirmed that Halevi conducted an assessment of the situation Sunday in southern Lebanon with the commander of the Northern Command, MG Ori Gordin; 146th Division Commander, BG Yiftach Norkin; Commander of the 300th Brigade, Colonel Omri Rosenkrantz; and other senior officers.

AND ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorist group in Lebanon has been going on for a month since Friday.
Since the 60-day agreement took effect on November 27, Israeli forces have been conducting operations in southern Lebanon that they say are aimed at dismantling Hezbollah’s terrorist tunnels and command center.
According to New York Times, Israeli forces have continued their attacks while the cease-fire agreement has held, mainly in southern Lebanon, but now, as of a few days ago, in the eastern Bekaa region as well.
