Indy 500: Rookie driver opens up on earning pole position

Indycar Rookie Robert Shwartzman has earned a position for a degree for Indianapolis 500 with the fastest circle around the track on Sunday afternoon.

The 25-year-old Russian Israeli driver managed to stay in control, maintain a focus and become the first newcomer to win a pillar since 1983.

“It’s really, really fast,” he said. “But as a racing driver, you train to have a proper vision. You have to see the road really far because the speed is so fast. In addition, when you enter the corners at that speed, everything could happen.
