Indycar Rookie Robert Shwartzman Indianapolis 500 came to an unhappy end on Sunday.
Shwartzman started the race on the pillar while finishing the fastest time Indianapolis Speedway In qualifying, but all the joy turned into pain as a debacle on a pit road almost seriously injured a few members of his crew.

He walked into his barn after he finished about 87 rounds and his car slid as he walked into the box. Four members of his crew tried to avoid a sliding car but failed. One crew member was taken out on a stretcher.
“I honestly felt really strange brakes when I came slowly in Pit Lane. I locked both front tires, which is usually not the case,” said Shwartzman. “I wasn’t sure if they were brakes or because the tires were cold. I tried to be very slow. But as soon as I touched the brakes, the whole front lost to me, and I went right into the guys.
“It was really scary because only a traveler was braking at the moment.”

The collision was enough to finish his day.
The driver towards Racing was the first rookie to occupy the position since 1983.
“It’s just sad because we worked so well in qualifying,” he said. “But it’s an Indy 500. Everything can happen. Many strong drivers are out of the race or behind. This is an Indy 500. That happens.”

Alex Palou took home a plaid flag. That was his first win in Indy 500 and the fifth in the first six races of the 2025 season.
