Germany leader Fredricich Merge has failed to push through a migration bill supported to the right of the far right, a harmful week for Frontrner to become the Chancellor in the next election.
The leader of the Christian Democrats, Merz Germany (AFD), tried to restrict immigration rules with the help of alternatives. The bill was dropped by 12 votes on Friday. Twelve MPs were missing from the Merge’s parliamentary group.
This push came after passing a non-meditative proposal related to Migration with AFD Backing earlier this week, trigging large-scale condemnation. It was for the first time in the country’s latest history that most of the majority in the Bundestag emerged thanks to the right.
Just three weeks before the general election, Merge’s parliamentary initiatives have created intense controversy over the growing impact on the right in the largest country in Europe.
On Thursday, former CDU Chancellor Angela Merkel, a longtime party rival Merge’s competitor, Step As “wrong”. In a stinging reproach, the country’s Catholic and Protestant churches warned against the arrangement of the Merge and AFD. Thousands of protesters gathered in front of the CDU headquarters in Berlin.
Chancellor Olaf Sholz, led by Economy Minister Robert Habke, has rejected both the Social Democrats and The Greens initiatives, accusing the Merge a ban on AFD policies and endangering democracy.
During a three-hour controversy on Friday, the Merge, who ruled a formal alliance with the AFD, rejected the allegations that his initiative would increase the far right party. Instead, he emphasized that he wanted to hold its rise.
AFD, which is predicted to secure 20 percent of the vote on February 28, wanted to “erod the foundations of our democracy” and destroy the CDU: “Do you seriously believe we have arrived that we have arrived. At a party that wants to destroy us?“
Merge argued that it was important to take concrete measures by following several Attack Driven by asylum candidates over the past months.
“Do we agree that asylum seekers in the Federal Republic must be limited to the flow of asylum seekers?” He asked. “To regain the respect of most citizens, we must prove that we have been able to decide at the political center. “
His bill was supported by the Liberal FDP party and the far left nationalist Sahra Wagenchot Alliance (BSW). It tried to restrict the rules of entry to the family members of the refugees and give law enforcement more power.
This bill was encouraged by an Afghan asylum seeker in Bavaria last week by killing a baby and an adult. Saudi refugees came a month later after a severe stabbing in Solinzen in August after a Christmas market in Magdeburg and a Syrian asylum candidate in August.
“It will now depend on the next German Bundestag for the introduction of the new law,” the German rally is the next week after the German legislature has moved towards pre-election vacation.
The parliamentary push has not yet reflected in the opinion survey. This week the CDU was on its way to the February 23th.
The survey found that the proposals were mostly supported by German. However, they further suggested that a huge ratio of voters was concerned about AFD. About 5 percent of them say that the far right team cannot be considered as a general team, according to a Polster Force.
On Friday, the leader of the Bundestag SPD Group, Rolf Matzenich, awakened the extraordinary Wamer republic before the Nazi rule.
“Wamer failed in the absence of unity ki on behalf of Democrats!” Senior politician. “You must rebuild the firewall. Firewall! “
