Franklin Graham dedicates first new homes for families hit by Hurricane Helene

In the mountains West North Carolina On Friday, two families who lost to Hurricane Helena have entered the brand new homes to donate Samaritan’s purse.

In an exclusive look scheduled for Fox News Digital, Rev. Franklin GrahamPresident of Samaritan’s purse, dedicated the first mobile houses completed as part of a huge effort for a renovation aimed at restoring hope for families with a devastated storm.

“We are grateful to have a new home,” Graham said. “But more importantly, we want these families to know that God loves them, and He has not forgotten them.”

Graham, who grew up down the road from Swannano, called him a “moment of full circle” as he stood near the same part of the country where flooded waters passed last fall.

“Let’s see these families go back to the right home … We Just thank God“He said.

At the first dedication, the young mother stood on the doorstep of her new home, clamping her baby and wiping her tears. Her family has lived in a cramped camper since their trailer was destroyed by flood waters. Just a few days earlier, she welcomed the newborn to the world.

“God gave me a refuge,” she said quietly. “He helped us approach as a family. He went through such a long way, but I continued to attach myself to faith and patience.”

She thought Samaritan’s handbag could help renovate her old trailer. What she got was something more than what she expected: a whole new, completely furnished home.

“I didn’t think she would bring us a new trailer,” she said, her voice cracked. “But this was better. I feel really emotional. It’s hard to lose the house and all the things you worked hard for. But seeing this one, it brings me excitement. I’m ready for me and my family to come in and finally get my place back.”

Earlier that morning, the second mother and her three children entered their new home for the first time. Their previous mobile house demolished the falling tree during a hurricane, leaving them displaced and uncertain about the future.

Both houses are built with reinforced walls, weather resistant features and solid foundations for years. Each came furnished and moved in. Each family received not only the keys to their new home, but also the Bible, said the gesture that Graham said the heart of the mission.

“These are the homes built by the people of God, on the name of Jesus,” he said. “We want these families to know that he has not turned their backs on them. He loves them.”

The Samaritan purse builds dozens of new homes throughout the region and survivors deliver upgraded mobile units. Houses weigh £ 7,000 more than standard models and strengthened from top to bottom – roof, windows, walls and floors.

“These houses are the first two of many,” Graham said. “And we’re ready to provide hundreds more as needed.”

Before the start of the renovation, almost 35,000 Samaritan’s handbags were poured into Western North Carolina and East Tennessee. They reduced the trees, cleaned debris, darkened roofs, and threw out flooded homes. The Ministry also implemented the largest civilian aircraft in American history, delivering more than £ 700,000 to 358 flights.

In addition to housing, the organization replaced hundreds of vehicles and helped thousands of families with the help of foods and basic needs.

But personal moments – quiet prayers, tears of relief, the joy of children who enter the bedroom again – define a mission.

“We thank everyone who gave,” Graham said. “Thousands and thousands have contributed. But, most of all, we thank God. For he is the one who allows it all.”
