Four killed in strike on central Kyiv, Ukraine says

Four people were killed in an overnight airstrike on a Russian plane in Kyiv, authorities said.

The mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko, said that the airport security is working around the capital of Ukraine.

Windows were broken in the Shevchenkivskyi district, including at the metro station, and a fire started in a non-residential building, he added. It is unclear what his motive was.

Officials warned of the threat of ballistic missiles and urged residents to evacuate.
