Massachusetts state police released Proctor in March after an internal investigation revealed that he shared sensitive and confidential information about the case with people outside the police.

Prctor’s alleged rush that he implies reading could make him neglect evidence that indicates other options about the cause of O’Keefe’s death, Edwards states.
“Michael Proctor is not qualified to decide on how John O’Keefe died,” Edwards said. “This is what we have medical browsers for. Based on text messages, Michael Proctor came to that conclusion on its own within a few hours of O’Keefe’s death.”

Criminal Defense lawyer Mark Bederow also pointed out to Proctor’s professional inability to determine what – or who – killed O’Keefe and that the immediate assumption could be harmful to the investigation.
