EXCLUSIVE: The House of Representatives will vote next week on a bill that would order the deportation of illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes.
The law just days ago received enthusiastic support from billionaire Elon Musk, who criticized Democrats who previously opposed it.
The Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act was first introduced by Rep. Nancy Mace, R-C., last year and passed by the House of Representatives with bipartisan support. All Republican lawmakers voted for the bill, along with 51 House Democrats.

Because the exes did not take it over Senate controlled by DemocratsHowever, Mace reintroduced the bill on Friday to restart the process in the new 119th Congress.
“Let it pass both houses of Congress,” Mace wrote on social media over the weekend.
Two sources told Fox News Digital that House GOP leaders intend to hold another vote on the matter next week, which would happen just days before President-elect Trump’s inauguration.
It’s one of several bills on border security and other conservative policies introduced by House Republicans on Friday — the first day of the 119th Congress.

Over the weekend, Musk called out Democratic challengers who voted against the bill in September.
“No excuses. Please post a list of people who opposed this bill and want to keep convicted sex offenders illegal in America,” Musk wrote on X in response to a conservative influencer who discussed the bill. “They should all be voted out of office. Every single one of them.”
GOP lawmakers are signaling they don’t want to waste time implementing their agenda after Republicans retained the House of Representatives while also taking the White House and Senate in November’s elections.

In addition to Mace returning her bill, Reps. Chip Roy, R-Texas, and Mike Collins, R-Ga., also reintroduced their own legislation which passed the House of Representatives last year, but did not see a vote in the Senate.
Roy introduced a bill mandating proof of citizenship in the voter registration process, while Collins is spearheading legislation that would order federal immigration authorities to extradite and take custody of illegal aliens who commit theft-related crimes, such as shoplifting, as is defined at the state and local level by law.
This latest bill is expected to be up for another vote in the House of Representatives this week.
