Eddie Hearn’s promoter has confirmed that there have been talks between Turki al-Sheikh and Light Villeter Champions Richardson Hitchins and Teofimo Lopez for a fight at 140. Listen is confident that his fighter, IBF Champion Hitchens (19-0, 7 Kos) Defeat WBO belt holder Teofimo (21-1, 13 Kos) next.
Teofimo has reportedly signed a three-fight contract with Turki for these three fighters:
“Yes, it was. Not with the top rank, but with His Excellency (Turki al-Sheikh),” said Eddie serving Fighthippe When asked if there have been discussions for a unification fight between Hitchins Richardson and Teofimo Lopez.
“Keith Connolly represents both guys. So we’re ready for that fight. Richardson is ready to jump into making the fight right off the bat. Obviously the job has to be right, but no problem. It’s a great fight for New York, Theo vs. Hitchins, and we’re putting up a good fight.
“So forget the plans for Teofimo Lopez. Richardson Hitchins is going to beat Teofimo Lopez. So we’re ready for that fight. Teofimo Lopez probably,” Hurn said when asked what’s next for Hitchins. “Before Teofimo, we were just planning for him to fight in New York in the summer in New York”
Hearing is right. Hitcrins will 100% beat Teofimo and make it look easy in the process. This will be an even easier win for Hitchins than his dominant win over IBF 140-LB Champion Liam Paro on December 7th. If Turki wants Teofimo to take three tough fights as part of his contract with him, he will lose them all, starting with Richardson.
Teofimo won’t fight Hitchins unless Turki Al-Sheikh offers him a ship because that’s not his style, especially after getting burned in his matches against Jamaina Ortiz, Sandor Martin and George Kambosos.
“George will be back. He’ll be back in Australia, and then the plan is to move him straight to Hitchins Hitchins. If Hitchins fights Lopez, we’ll see what happens, but George shoots at 147, and we’ll see what happens,” we’ll say what’s going on, we’ll say what’s going on, we’ll say what’s going on”, we’ll say what’s going on “.
Nobody wants to see Kambosos Jr. Be the one to take Hitchins for his IBF belt, as he doesn’t rate the world title taken by his terrible record over the last three years. Kambossos is heading into walk-on status and doesn’t rate a title shot with his 1-3 record in his last four fights. You don’t go to the championship game with a record like that in any other sport.
