US Ministry of Justice (Doom) triggers an investigation about The city of Chicago For alleged participation in the discrimination pattern based on race, which is a violation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
Harmeet K. DhillonThe Assistant Attorney General for Civic Rights Department of DOJ sent a letter to Mayor Chicago Brandon Johnson on Monday to inform him that an investigation into a violation of civil rights has been opened.
“Our investigation is based on information suggesting that you have made employment decisions solely on the basis of a race,” Dhillon wrote. “In your notes presented yesterday at the Apostolic Church of God in Woodlawn, you highlight[ed] Number of black officials in [your] administration. “
Johnson was a guest at the Apostolic Church of God, when he responded to critics who claim he was just talking about the employment of the blacks.

“No, what I say is, when you hire our people, we always look out for everyone else. We are the most gentle people on the planet,” he said.
In his administration, Johnson listed top -notch officials, emphasizing their race.
For example, Johnson said his deputy mayor is a black woman’s business and economic development.
Other positions filled with black women whom Johnson spoke about include Deputy Mayor of Infrastructure, Budget Director and Commissioner of Planning and Development Department.

Johnson also highlighted the Chief Operation Clerk and Higher Advisor because both are the positions held by the blacks.
“Then you said that you” set up “these positions” to “ensure that our people get the opportunity to grow job,” Dhillon Johnson wrote. “Given these remarks, I have approved the investigation To determine whether the City of Chicago is involved in the form or practice of discrimination as the above.
“If such employment decisions are made for the highest level positions in your administration, then the question is whether such decisions have been made for lower levels,” she added.

Dhillon emphasized that no conclusions were made on the matter, and she welcomed his help in the investigation.
Johnson’s office did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request to comment on the investigation.
Chicago Mayor in the past made comments based on the race.

After President Donald Trump was elected for a second term, Johnson claimed during a press conference that the new president was a threat to black families in his city.
“His threat is not only according to new arrivals and unfathomable families. His threats are against black families,” Johnson said. “We will protect black people, brown people, Asian people. The city of Chicago will be better, stronger and more secure despite being in the White House.”
