Trump’s administration on Thursday accused the Columbia University of violating federal law through “intentional indifference” to Anti-Israeli protest who took over the campus of October 7, 2023.
Investigative findings of the Civic Rights Office of the Ministry of Health and Human Services (OCR) state that Columbia has been solving “the harassment of Jewish students of students” in the last 19 months has violated the title of VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
HHS said the title VI “forbids the recipient of federal financial assistance from discrimination in their programs and activities based on race, color or national origin, which includes the discrimination of individuals based on their real or observed Israeli or Jewish identity or origin.”

HHS claimed that Columbia “continually did not protect Jewish students” allowing “an enemy environment created by one of his students” to continue.
Campus Ivy League was the main focal point for Anti-Israel and Pro-Hama Protests and gatherings since the terrorist group launched an attack on Israel in October 2023. In the months since large groups of people have taken over or damaged the large groups of people who sang anti -Semitic phrases and demanded that the University be dismissed from Israel.
OCR’s violation notification claimed that Columbia “failed to” fight anti -Semitism in different ways, including properly adherence to their own policies and procedures when responding to the complaints of the Jewish student population or when they manage the violation of students to Jewish students.

HHS said that it took the University until the summer of 2024 to “establish effective mechanisms of reporting and rehabilitation for anti -Semitism.” Even then, the university is charged with exploring or punishing vandalism – such as swastika and other hate images – in classrooms.

The announcement on Thursday comes a day after several Columbia graduates set fire to their diploma in protest due to the detention of former student Mahmoud Khalil.
