The longtime CNN correspondent Alex Marquardt comes out of the liberal network less than five months after his reporting helped cost a company millions as a result a slander testFox News Digital confirmed.
“Some personal news: I leave CNN after 8 great years. It is hard to say goodbye, but it was an honor to work among the best in business. Deep thanks to my friends on the national security team and phenomenal teammates I worked with in the USA abroad,” Marquardt posted on X.
Former CNN media correspondent Oliver Darcy reported That Marquardt was fired due to “editorial differences”, but Marquardt was unclear when announcing news on social media on Monday.
CNN rejected the comment, stating politics not to discuss “staff issues”.

It was also revealed that Marquardt told a colleague “that we would score this Zachary Young MF — Er”, a message often cited throughout the trial. In an interview after the trial, Young said he did not forgive Marquardt, inviting him to remain defiance at the witness stop at the trial.
“We gave Mr. Marquardt a lot of opportunities during the deposition and then at the trial to apologize. And, you know, the answer was no,” Young told Fox News Digital. “He is still behind his work. He is very proud of what he did. His hit piece on me to destroy my life.”
“He’s not my biggest fan,” Young added.
At the witness booth, Marquardt insisted that his report was not a “hit piece” on Young -in that he was proud of his work.
