Christie Brinkley He sends love to his ex -husband Billy Joel, just days after the winner of the Grammy Award announced a devastating diagnosis.
On Saturday, Brinkley – who was married to Joel from 1985 to 1994 – climbed the social media to share his support and offer words of encouragement while Joel is preparing the battle of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), a rare disorder that affects its vision, hearing and balance.
“Dear Billy, the whole Brinkley gang sends you a lot of love and good wishes for complete and fast recovery,” she wrote in Instagram title In addition to the video and daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook Dance at one of Joel’s concerts. “I was looking for some sweet photos of you and Alexa [Brinkley and Joel’s daughter] Let me send you when I came across this clip from a recent concert. On Friday, the five -time winner of Grammy, 76, announced that he was canceling all his shows due to the diagnosis of brain disorders.
“This condition is worsened by recent concert performances, which has led to hearing, vision and balance problems,” the announcement on the Joel’s website.
“According to his doctor’s instructions, Billy was subjected to specific physical therapy and advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.”

“He is grateful for the support of the fans during this time and is looking forward to the day when he can once again get on stage.”
Joel concluded, “I am honestly sorry to disappoint our audience and thank you for your understanding.”
Joel’s wife, Alexis Roderick Joel, shared a statement with Fox News Digital.
“Thank you for the outburst of love and support. We are so grateful for the wonderful care and fast diagnosis we have received. Many are loved, and for us is the father and husband, who is in the center of our world. We hope to recover. We look forward to seeing you in the future,” she said.
The NPH is a condition that occurs when the cerebrospinal fluid accumulates inside the skull and presses the brain. This condition most likely occurs in people over 65 years of age. Treatment of this condition involves surgery in shunt implant for exhausting excess fluid from the interior of the skull, according to Cleveland clinic.

Joel and Brinkley have had a close relationship over the years.
Last year Joel Serenaded Brinkley During his concert at Madison Square Garden.
In the video received by Fox News Digital, Brinkley shows that he is moving forward -awarding to “Uptown Girl”, a song that Joel wrote about her in 1983. It was aired on the large Arena screen that the whole crowd she saw.
Pictures seemingly show Joel singing a passionately singing Brinkley.
In 2010, Joel confirmed that “Uptown Girl” was written about Brinkley (she appeared in a music video), although he explained that the story was more.
