“There is no room for that in our game,” Clark told reporters, through Indy Star. “There is no room for this in society. We certainly want any person who enters our Arena, whether a player, whether a fan, has a great experience.
“I appreciate the league that does this. The fever organization was at the helm of it, because, really, on the first day, what they do. I hope we will explore them – let them find anything and take appropriate action if so.”
Pacers Sports & Entertainment CEO Mel Raines issued a statement about that.
“We are aware of the charges of inappropriate fans’ behavior during yesterday’s game and cooperate closely with the WNBA to finish the investigation,” Raines said. “We are firmly in our dedication to providing a safe environment for all WNBA players.”

The WNBPA National Basketball Association also published a statement, calling “such behavior unacceptable.”
“WNBPA is aware of the report on hate comments on yesterday’s game in Indianapolis and supports the current investigation of WNBA this issue,” the union said. “Such behavior is unacceptable for our sport.
“According to the WNBA policy” there is no room for hatred, “we believe the league is to thoroughly investigate and take fast, appropriate measures to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.”

The revised WNBA fans’ behavior code includes regulations for fans on social media and threat to sanctioning these fans from official content if violated. The new policy cites racist, homophobic, sexist, sexual, threatening or defamatory content as “subject to blocking or wiping.”

“Repeat the violations of these guidelines may result in that the offender can no longer monitor our news, comment on our posts or send us messages,” Politics writes. “In addition, any direct threats to players, referees or other league and team staff can refer to the implementation of the law and may result in the abuser forbidden at all Arenas of WNBA and events.”
