C.J. Stroud responds to fans booing during Texans’ demoralizing loss: ‘People are entitled to their opinions’

The Houston Texans lost 31-2 to the Baltimore Ravens Christmas Day, and fans at NRG Stadium made their feelings known about the loss.

Texans fans booed like Ravens won their third consecutive victory in a period of 11 days.

Quarterback CJ Stroud acknowledged the Texans’ poor play in postgame remarks, taking full responsibility for the loss.

“Terrible from me, probably one of my worst games in my entire career,” Stroud said. “I just came out flat, I didn’t have the energy. I didn’t run the offense the way I should have.”

When asked specifically about the audience reaction, Stroud seemed to understand.

“People are entitled to their opinion,” he said. “They care about the game. Their emotions are important. I get it. It’s not the first time, and it probably won’t be the last. It’s not something to internalize and point the finger at, but it’s something you can use to motivate you.

“I still have a lot of football left in my career, I hope, God willing. And I know this will be a story that I will tell one day and that will help me in the long run.”

The Texans’ only points of the day came on a safety in the second quarter.
