Officials now say Bryan Kohberger a suspect accused of quadruple murder four college students from Moscow, Idaho, were being investigated in connection with a home invasion that occurred before the murders in a neighboring town.

Newly released body cam video, obtained by ABC Newsshows how police respond to an alleged home invasion in October 2021 in Pullman, Wash. — a little more than a year before and about 10 miles from where four University of Idaho students were fatally stabbed in their off-campus home.

“I heard my door open and I looked over and somebody was wearing a ski mask and had a knife, so I kind of punched the s— out of their stomach and screamed super loud and then they kind of flew back into my closet and ran out my door and up the stairs,” the woman on the dash cam told police, adding that the masked intruder entered her bedroom, holding a knife, around 3:30 a.m.

She said that the suspect was silent the entire time, according to the police report obtained by the newspaper. One of her roommates quickly called the police, but officers did not find the suspect or evidence at the time.

November 13, 2022 Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves, both 21, their housemate Xana Kernodle, 20, and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, also 20, were stabbed to death around 4 a.m. in their Moscow, home in Idaho. The surviving tenant told detectives she saw a masked man with “shaggy eyebrows” after hearing crying and the sounds of a struggle.

Kohberger, dr. sc. a student at a nearby university Washington State University, he was arrested a few weeks later at his parents’ home in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. The 28-year-old suspect faces four counts of first-degree murder and a charge of aggravated burglary in connection with the early-morning massacre, during which prosecutors say he snuck into a home near the University of Idaho campus and brutally killed four innocent students with a large knife. .

13 days later, Kohberger was named a person of interest in the Pullman case.

Kohberger is no longer a person of interest in case of burglary, Pullman police told ABC News.

Kohberger’s height does not match the description of the female victim in the Pullman case. She told police the suspect is 5-foot-5, while Kohberger is 6-feet tall, according to the police report. Kohberger was not yet enrolled at Washington State University at the time of the Pullman burglary, according to the report.

The Pullman case is closed and remains unsolved.

“My family and I were frustrated that the case was not investigated more deeply or resolved,” the burglary victim told the news outlet.

WITH Kohberger’s trial for murder scheduled to begin in August 2025, it is unclear whether the defense will use the burglary case to raise reasonable doubt.

Kohberger is due back in court on January 23. He is being held without bail and could face a capital punishment if convicted.
