Bad Bunny is back.
Benito A. Martínez Ocasiothe Puerto Rican singer-rapper who became a global superstar upon the release of his debut album in 2020, returns with a new album on Jan. 5, according to a post on his Instagram. I should have taken more photos (translation: I Should Have Taken More Photos) is the follow-up to his 2023 album, Nobody Knows What’s Going to Happen Tomorrow.
While dropping the news on Thursday, Bad Bunny posted a teaser video for the upcoming album to his Instagram. The brief clip, directed by filmmaker Jacobo Morales, features Ocasio reminiscing over past moments with “Concho,” his friend. The album’s 17 tracks will include “Pitorro” and the previously released “El Clúb” Additionally, Bad Bunny recently released the single “Pitorro de Coco.”
On Christmas, he teased the album is 17 bomba tracks — or “explosive hit songs.”
I should have taken more photos is the musical culmination of what appears to have been a very busy 2024 for Ocasio. Over the past year, in addition to completing the new record, he’s punched up the burgeoning acting career with roles in auteur filmmaker Darren Aronofsky’s forthcoming crime drama feature film, Caught Stealing, and in the much-anticipated Adam Sandler sports comedy sequel Happy Gilmore 2. Before being cast in these divergent dramatic and comedy roles, Ocasio appeared as an assassin in Bullet Train opposite Brad Pitt and Cassandrostarring Gael García Bernal, among other roles.
As if writing and recording his music while acting in films from top talent isn’t enough, Ocasio also performs as a professional wrestler. His WWE programming debut came in 2021 and that same year he made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 37.
Bad Bunny has sold over seven million records worldwide and is the first non-English-language act to become Spotify’s most streamed artist of the year, and A Summer Without You is the most streamed album on Spotify with over 18 billion streams.
