Andrew Tate released from house arrest after five months

Internet controversial figure Andrew Tate has been released from house arrest by a Romanian court, pending the outcome of a criminal investigation, his spokesman said.

Instead, he stayed under the authority, meaning he could pass through Romania “following the requirements,” the spokesman added.

Tate, 38, faces charges of child trafficking, sex with a minor and money laundering, along with his brother Tristan. Both have strongly denied the charges.

The spokesman added: “Andrew Tate and his team remain committed to full cooperation and the pursuit of justice.”

Father was arrested at home in August when prosecutors launched a second investigation against him and Tristan Tate, along with four other suspects, on charges of child trafficking, child sex and money laundering. They all deny wrongdoing.

The first case different from the brothers was they were sent back to the prosecutors and the Court of Appeal in Bucharest in December again, saying that it cannot continue in its current state.

In this case, Andrew and Tristan Tate were charged with human trafficking and organized a sex trafficking ring.

They also deny this, as well as the rape and human trafficking that has happened to them in the UK, where the police want to extradite two UK and US citizens.

A judge in Bucharest has already said that the request for extradition to Romania will be over.

The brothers are also accused of tax evasion in the UK. Last month, a British court ruled that the police could confiscate more than £2m ($2.4m) from them for failing to pay tax on £21m in income from their online business.

Andrew Tate said the decision was unfair and called it “a concerted attack”.

He is a self-proclaimed misogynist and has previously been banned from social media for expressing those views.

A former kickboxer, he has gained millions of followers online and has lived in Romania for several years, after living in the UK.
