Americans across the country are summarizing what they perceive president biden’His legacy will be as he prepares to leave office in a few days.
Fox News Digital talked to citizens across the country about how they think the one-term president will be remembered, and the opinions were pretty divided. However, even some Biden fans who enjoyed his time in the Oval Office acknowledged that history is unlikely to be too kind to the 46th president.
“I’m very sad for Joe Biden,” Brian, a Maryland resident, said during a visit to Washington DC last week. “He served his country pretty well for almost fifty years, but his legacy — it could be rehabilitated with the history books — but unfortunately, his legacy is going to be difficult because a lot of what his legacy is is the withdrawal from Afghanistan.”
“But they made mistakes and people died,” he added.

When asked what she believes Biden will be most remembered for, Michigan’s Genna told Fox News Digital in four words: “Corruption, DEI, they woke up too.”
Genna’s friend, Monell, chimed in, saying, “I think they’ve gone too far to the left. I think they’re pushing agendas for things that don’t matter. We’re helping Ukraine with money, and we’re not taking care of American citizens first and foremost.”
Houston resident Jennifer said Biden’s age will stand out in the history books. “People make fun of it, and it was just — I don’t know, I feel like he was a little too old to carry that much … there’s a lot to take care of. It’s not the best, in my opinion,” she said.
“Oh my God, open the borders,” said one Californian visiting Texas when asked what Biden’s legacy would be. – I don’t like what they did on our border. It was added by an anonymous man “law” against the newly elected President Donald Trump and his allies was also a major part of Biden’s legacy.
“They used the DOJ and the FBI to shut people up,” he said.
When asked what she will remember Biden for most, Jona from Michigan answered: “That he was bad!”

In Houston, Rudy said there’s “not much to remember” from Biden’s time in office. “Not much was done. It just seemed like they had a puppet there.”
Washington DC resident Erin described Biden’s time in office, saying, “I wouldn’t say it’s been amazing.”
More than half of Americans say Biden will be remembered as a below-average or one of the worst presidents in the nation’s history, according to national survey by the Marists. The poll, released Wednesday, found that more than a third of adults nationwide said Biden would be remembered as one of the worst presidents in American history, while another 19% said he would be considered a below-average president.
Twenty-eight percent of respondents said Biden’s legacy would be considered average, and 19% said he would be considered above average or one of the best presidents in the nation’s history.
A USA Today/Suffolk University poll released Tuesday found that 44% of voters nationwide said history would judge Biden as a failed president, while another 27% said he would be judged a fair president.
A Gallup poll released on January 8 found that 54% of Americans say Biden will be remembered as “below average” (37%) or “bad” (17%). Meanwhile, 19% are confident he will have a positive legacy, with 6% saying he was “outstanding” and 13% saying he was “above average”.

Fox News Digital also spoke to more Americans who are happy with Biden’s legacy. Bob, a Californian visiting Washington, described Biden’s legacy as “great.” He called Biden “a great man, a great humanitarian” and “a great person,” adding that the 46th president “tried to do his best for the country.”
Greg, from Houston, said: “I think his heart has always been in the right place and I think he’s an advocate for the middle class.
“I think overall I was happy with his work,” said Matt, from Virginia. He mentioned that the president could have handled the border better, but stated, “overall, I was pleased with the way he ran the country.”
“I like him as a human being and I wish him the best of luck,” he added.
Krissy from Michigan praised Biden, saying: “He took it COVID seriouslyand he really guarded us and really kind of took control and — with facts and mature leadership, and got us into a good space.”
Nathan, another Michigan resident, described Biden’s legacy as “equality.” “There’s no condemnation, there’s no hardship,” he said, adding that Biden’s tenure has marked “America’s coming together.”
Madeline of Houston praised the president for pulling out of Afghanistan, saying, “Knowing that he got us out of it — even for better or for worse, I’m glad he did.”
