San Francisco (AP) – A former food delivery driver pleads guilty to consult with others to steal more than $ 2.5 million from Doordash By preparing the company for deliveries that do not occur, federal prosecutors said.
Sayeie Chaitanya Reddy Devagiri pleads guilty of Federal court in San Jose in a Conspiracy count of Command Wire Fraudd, the US attorney’s office said.
Dovagiri, 30, in Newport Beach, California, claimed to work with three of 2020 and 2021 to break the Practisco-Feddicsco-Feddico-Compace Compoly, Federal Adforduroco.
Prosecutors say use the blood customer accounts to place high-value orders and then use access to DOORDash orders in driving orders that he and others are controlled. He then caused the fraudulent driver accounts to report that orders had been delivered when they had not, and manipulated doordash’s computer systems to pay the fraudulent driver accounts for the nonexistent deliveries, officials said.
Djagiri will then use doordash software to change orders from “rescued” status “to change driving orders, the process begins, the process is initiated.
The Dekagiri is the third defendant who is judged by his role in this conspiracy. Two fellow focused intervening guilty of a count of conspiracy to make wire fraud, authorities.
Blood faced a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and fine of $ 250,000. He is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 16, 2025.
