Palisades fire burns homes as thousands evacuate in LA

The Palisades Fire in Los Angeles, California has prompted evacuations due to thick and heavy smoke.

Officials said the fire grew from 20 acres to more than 200 acres 20 minutes after it was reported at 10:30 local time.

The development has been boosted by the storm which has placed a large part of the state under a red flag warning.
