The Ukrainian forces on Sunday destroyed dozens of Russian war planes with a coordinated strike of drones that broke deep into Russian territory, hitting five military air fields and burning aircraft, including strategic bombers and supervisory planes.
The operation, called “Spider’s Web”, lasted 18 months for planning and was personally monitored by President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian security service (SBU) said.
Ukraine used a small FPV of an unmanned aircraft Hidden inside wooden cabs set on trucks. When the trucks reached their goals, the roofs opened the remote control and the drones started.
Videos on social networks showed that drones get up from parked trucks and hit large aircraft on the runway.

In a statement of x, Zelenskyy called the surgery “Absolutely great result” and said he was “achieved exclusively by Ukraine.”
He said the mission lasted “one year, six months and nine days from the start of planning to an effective execution” and described it as “our long -term operation.” He added that “our people involved in the preparation of surgery were withdrawn from the Russian territory on time” and thanked General Vasil Maliuku, the SBU chief for success.
Zelensky said some details could not be revealed yet, but they stated: “These are Ukrainian actions that will undoubtedly be in the books of history … Ukraine defends itself, right so.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the airports were attacked in five regions: Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan and Amur.
Russia called the strike a “terrorist act,” but said his forces rejected the attack. Still, the Ministry has recognized several aircraft. Russian officials said some suspects were arrested.
Ukraine said 117 drones were used.
The SBU claimed that 34% of Russian strategic bombers had been affected and assessed damage to $ 7 billion. The BBC monitoring reported that other Ukrainian experts had given a lower estimate of two billion dollars. These numbers were not confirmed.
The attack occurred before the planned peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia began on Monday in Istanbul, which supported President Donald Trump, BBC reported.
