Motown legend Smokey Robinson is again under the supervision of renewed charges of sexual abuse.

Authorities have investigated prior charges of sexual abuse against Robinson in 2015, but no charges have been charged with insufficient evidence, prosecutors said on Friday.

The Los Angeles District State Attorney’s Office confirmed that a decade of an old investigation and her decision to reject the cost of a statement on Friday. The office said that the details would not be provided due to the current investigation of Robinson.

Robinson’s lawyer, Christopher Frost, said in a statement that the “satisfied” district prosecutor “confirmed that there was no basis for filing the charges before the decade.”

“The cross appeal that Mr. Christopher Frost filed on behalf of William ‘Smokey’ Robinson and Frances Robinson is nothing more than an attempt to silence and intimidate surviving sexual batteries and attack Mr. Robinson,” they said.

“It is an unfounded and vindictive legal maneuver designed to restart, switch guilt and discourage others to appear. This type of retaliation is exactly what California Anti-Slappo Laws are adopted to prevent.”

Robinson is a member of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the House of Fame. He was a key figure in the Motown Records Machine of the 1960s as an artist and writer and was one of the best shots of the era with songs such as “Tears of the Clown” and “The Song of My Tears”.
