Bernie KerikA former New York police commissioner, who called as a hero after September 11, died at the age of 69.
His death was announced on Thursday night by FBI Director Kash Patel, who wrote that Kerik “died after a private battle with illness.”
“Rest easy, the commissioner. Your watch is over, but your influence will never fade,” Patel wrote.
Kerik’s rise to national prominentness followed during September 11, 2001Terrorist attacks, where he became a stable figure together with the then -Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Kerik worked on ambulance coordination after the collapse of the World Trade Center.
His 35-year career has been recognized in more than 100 awards for a meritorious and heroic service, including the presidential praise for President Ronald Reagan’s heroism and two awards for reputable service from the US Ministry of Internal Security.

Kerik, who was NYPD chief police officer from 2000 to 2001, admitted to blame in 2009 on eight criminal offenses, including tax fraud and lying in the White House, while in 2004 he was checked for the role of head of home security.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, 1955, Kerik left high school, but later earned his GED before joining the US army.
After returning to civil life, he entered into the implementation of the law and stood up through the ranks, eventually led the City Correction Division. 2000 was appointed Commissioner NYPD Giuliani.
