Texas Gov. Greg Abbott The legislation signed on Monday, which he said “crystal clear” makes only to American citizens voting in the elections in his country.
“I have just signed in common resolution to be crystal clear within the Texas Constitution that if you are not a citizen of the United States, you are not allowed to vote in Texas,” Governor said in the video published in X.

But the amendment proposes to add a line of the classes of people who “will not be allowed to vote” in Texas, who reads: “Persons not citizens of the United States.”
Birdwell’s joint resolution was approved by the State Senate in April and then the State Home in May.
Abbott has signed a common resolution on Monday, but there is still a single step. In fact, Texas citizens in November will have a final word about whether the state constitution may be ratified to include a request to the state constitution.
