While the authorities are exploring the deadly shooting outside the capital of the Jewish Museum in Washington, DC, the Clevet League (ADL) invites Americans to face hatred.
Executive Director Adl Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement that the shooting was “inevitable” in the “climate of ruthless anti -Semitism” in the US, and this aligns with Adl’s annual audit findings, which has shown that anti -Semitic incidents In the United States, the fourth consecutive year in 2024 were on the rise.
“I can’t help myself, but I think that this persistent level of demonstration and harassment of Israelis and Jews, along with this rhetoric, celebrates terrorism and violence against Israeli and, he knew, made for an environment that allowed it to happen,” said the older ADL vice president of anti-theater and intelligence, Oren Segal, said to Fox News.

ADL recorded 151 anti -Semitic incidents in Washington, DC, 2024 A decrease in 171 incidents reported in 2023. However, both 2023 and 2024 represent large spikes compared to 2022, when only 37 incidents were recorded.
Segal told Fox News Digital that Adl noticed Anti-Israeli becoming “militant” and moving away from the criticism of the Israeli government and his politics, which he said were not anti -Semitic. He also added that after the Hamas massacre on October 7, “people were more willing to tolerate the types of activities aiming for the Jewish community that you know, to seem antem to anyone else.”

“This was not just against the DC Jewish community, but an attack on all Jewish Americans and really all Americans,” Greenblatt said in a shooting statement. “We know that words have consequences. When anti -Semitic rhetoric normalizes, tolerates or even enhances in our public discourse, it creates an environment where violence against Jews becomes more likely.”
Elias Rodriguez, 30, suspected of being killed by two Israeli Embassy workers – Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim – he allegedly shouted “Free, Slobodna Palestine” as they accepted him in custody. Several Jewish commentators on the network have said that the shooting is emblematic because of what “globalize intifads”-a freelance used in anti-Israeli protests-mean.
“The concern that many in the Jewish community have when they hear expressions like” globalize intifads “is to remind them of the intifads that happened, exactly what were violent,” Segal told Fox News Digital. “They have singled out suicide bombs, a lot of death and destruction. So when you call for the globalization of intifads, many hear it as calling for globalization of violence against Jews.”
He added that a fatal shooting outside the main Jewish museum in DC is a “pretty clear” case of anti -Semitism.

Segal also said that from October 7th ADL recorded an increase in marginalization Jewish communityincluding “these efforts to normalize that any Jewish person or anyone who supports Israel is a legitimate target.” He recalled that, as after October 7, there were those who justified the massacre, there are those who try to apologize to the murders of Lischinski and Milgrim.

“I think what we need to remember is that when we were in the most extreme rhetoric, we invited the protests and events across the country, we did not focus on the criticism of Israel. We focused on the type of language and activities we believe we saw that we have led to violence,” said Segal Fox News Digital. “And so, I hope that when people try to contextualize what happened in DC, they look back at what we were trying to say, what we warned about, because I think if you understand how words lead to action, we hope that more people will be part of that solution in pushing those narratives.”
