It’s been 85 years since the driver of racing cars born in Indiana won the famous race. Daly will drive a chevrolet sponsored number 76 AMPM with Wilbur Shaw, almost literally. Shaw won three Indy 500 races, but no one from Indiana won him since 1940.
He will wear a helmet that respects the legendary driver on Sunday.
“It’s crazy, 85 years since the last winner of Indy 500 from Indiana. That seems fine. That seems sad. So we have to change that,” said Daly, who was born in Noblesville, for Fox News Digital. “It was just a cool idea that I had come up with my helmet.
“I try to think of something unique to the Indy 500 helmet every year because it is just a special event, and we put several old pictures of his car day by day – 1940. He was the last winner, who is crazy. Put a ticket from 1940 on top of the helmet, as well as a few small little details.”
Daly qualified for the 11th race and should start between Scott McLaughlin and Alexander Rossi, who both won the race in the past.
He looked how fast the car was to him. Its average speed during the qualifications was about 231 mph.

“I feel really good,” he said. “This is one of the best cars I’ve had here in my Indycar career, and I know it’s a brave statement, but it was really a pleasure to drive all week. I equalized my best starting position with 11th place. We have been with Sitter since last year, Scott McLaughlin. We are in battle … This car is just so special.”
He called the ride at such a high speed of “truly craziness.”
“I don’t know why you wouldn’t watch what we are doing here because it’s really crazy,” he explained. “At this level, we are flying through the air, demolished at a high level, because we put these things on the absolutely exhausted edge of control and that is what it takes to win the biggest race there.
“It’s the biggest race that exists through motorcycle sports. Some people like to claim that, but physically, if you ask any racing driver who have been around sports for a long time, Indy 500, that’s big. It’s crazy and what we do outside.”
Daly said that winning the Indy 500 would be a knowledge of all the hard work he had invested throughout his career.
“That’s why I wake up every morning,” Duncos Hollinger Racing Driver told Fox News Digital.
Most importantly, he already picked up the milk that would turn it off if he could.

“I’ve gone with a lot in the last few years, but I haven’t won yet,” he said. “So, I decided to switch it. Let’s go 2% because why not? Select something different and maybe it will get it to us.”
