New Jersey Ambassador Lamonica McIver will perform on Wednesday after being accused earlier this month of attacking two federal agents in custody of the immigrant custody in Newark.
On May 9th, McIver was there with two other members of the congress to do what they claimed to be their surveillance duties that were congress, as well as the Mayor of Newarka Ras Barak, who was then arrested after the incident, but later his charges fell.
The Democrat will now appear before the Judge of the United States in New Jersey County at 11am and read her rights and accusations. The judge will then decide on his bail package.
“I think the accusations are absurd. You know, that’s funny. I was here to do my job together with my other colleagues. We did it before. This is our obligation. In our job description it is to have control of the object. And the whole situation escalated ice,” McIver said during Tuesday CNN.

“The conflict caused homes. Homes came and caused this chaos that we see. It was a very tense situation, but it could have been easy, it couldn’t have happened easily. They had every opportunity not to let it happen. It was very unnecessary. And once again, we were there to do our jobs,” she added. “And if I will be charged with a crime of doing his job, it only talks about where we went to this country that we deal with leaders and as members of the Congress, you know, here in this country.”

Prosecutors say that the first McIver officer was allegedly attacked by the Homeland Investigation Agent and the second was an agent for Ice.
The Ministry of Justice accuses McIver of “ramming her forearm into the body of a uniform HSI agent and reached for the good and tried to restrain the agent forcibly grabbed him.”
The filling document also states that McIver “pushed the ice officer and used his forearms to forcibly hit the agent.”

McIver rejected the accusations in a public statement, claiming they were “purely political”.
“Earlier this month I joined my colleagues to review the treatment Ice detainees In the Delaney Hall in my district, “she wrote.” We have fulfilled our lawful supervisory responsibilities, as the members of the Congress have done many times before, and our visit should have been calm and short. Instead, ICE agents created an unnecessary and insecure conflict when they decided to arrest the mayor of Barracks. ”
Witnesses said Associated Press that the arrest happened after the barracks tried to join McIver -ui New Jersey Reps. Robert Menendez and Bonnie Watson Coleman when entering the facility. When federal officials denied Baraka Access, the argument broke out, AP reported, citing activists with New Jersey Alliance for immigrant justice.

Prosecutors said that McIver helped create a “human shield” and blocked agents to fox barracks after neglecting numerous warnings to leave the property and was told he would be arrested.
